Burton snowboard...?

Q: Is it okay for me to buy a Burton Punch youth snowboard, I am 5'5'' and 115 pounds, foot size 7/8. I am 15. I want to spend enough to get a reasonably good board that I can start out with for a year or two. If not, what do you suggest? I am looking to

A: Yeah definately. When I was in 7th grade, I was about your size and I had a burton punch 143. It was a great board, and I had bigger feet then you have now so i don't think you will need to worry about the width that much. The 145 option will be plenty

Will the bindings of my old snowboard fit on a new burton snowboard?

I am looking to get a new burton snowboard, but I was wondering if I could use the bindings of my old (off-brand) snowboard instead of buying new ones.
I don't really want to pay the extra $100 for new bindings

If you're referring to the new channel system (IST) of mounting your bindings you can still mount old style 3-hole type bindings on it. If you're spending cash on new IST based board you might as well get EST bindings from Burton to get the best out

Some folks may not know whether they like a particular stance till they have tried all ways.

One way would be to slip down the hall or across the kitchen floor in your socks. Look to find out which put you automatically put in front.

After you have determined which stance you wish to use you should give some thought to how wide you must set your stance. Ideally, the width of your stance should be a little wider than shoulder-width. It should be balanced, stable and snug. For most people this will fall somewhere. Once again there is some room for private choice here but riding style can also impact the right angle for you. If you are riding freestyle or free ride, the front binding should fall between ten and thirty degrees. The rear binding should be angled somewhere between -15 and +10 degrees. The precise angle should be whatever is cosy for you.

try avoiding the enticement to compare your position to someone else?s No two stances are alike. Your position should be unique and what is comfortable for you. Over time, as you develop experience snowboard snowboarding your stance will also likely evolve and change.
