Fishing Rod and Reel Combos
Q: I've prett much barrowed other people fishing rods when i go fishing off my uncles boat and was wondering what a good rod and reel combo would be good to use in ohio may be more than one for each type of fish!
A: I have a Bill Dance select series by quantum, they have the best bait casting combos of all I've used and the price is great, averaging from 50 to 70 bucks. If bait casters aren't your thing, than a Penn brand is best, they last a long time are a hold
If you can, name the specific reels and rods that you have.
lol @ doc. Yeah i have : St. croix, pflueger, shakespeare, zebco, and shimano. I don't think i missed any =) i have a few spin casts and a few bait casters. most of mine are spinning.
This should be a perfect kid’s rod – my grandson is 5 and we took him fishing for the first time last week – the rod was a perfect size for him and he managed the casting and reeling in just perfectly – - however – after about 8 casts – he was no longer able to reel in the line -it just sat there no matter how he cranked in the reel – all of the adults tried to fix the rod – - to no avail – - there were no backlashes on the line – nothing – it just broke – - fortunately we were able to get him a regular adult rod that he could manage and he caught his first fish – a rainbow trout!
The product looked exciting and my son was eager to try it out even though he received it as a X’mas present. Unfortunately as soon as we tried it we realized it was defective, the line would not reel back in. We tried to look for instructions but nothing is available except what it is on the back of the packaging and the link to the manufacturer’s web site did not provide any additional information. The one year warranty is a joke since they require you to send in $8.95 to cover shipping and handling and ship the defective part back. Given that the entire assembly cost less than that it is a pretty worthless warranty. I was so excited to see this item on Amazon. My grandson is asking for this for Christmas and since my daughter can’t find it in stores, I saw it and got it. It’s perfect for his age and size but they claim in the ad that there is supposed to be a “charachter sticker set” included. Not there. Something is missing. Now I have to go through the process of trying to call whomever is in charge of this item and get that sticker set or go find stickers at the Hallmark store. Pay attention to what is actually shipped to you vs what the ad states. Its my first time saltwater fishing. I need a good rod/reel combo that's under $40 and has 15-25lbs line test. Also i don't want it to be over 8'. If you can, can you provide a link. Thanks
